Description

AUBH is the first comprehensive, purpose-built, American-style co-educational university in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and is supported through the Mumtalakat portfolio (https://mumtalakat.bh/industry/elm-fund/). The contemporary, 75,000 square meter campus is located in Riffa, Bahrain. The innovative and high-tech campus enhances the teaching and learning experience for both faculty and students. Admission Process

AUBH is open for admission for prospective students. To apply, simply read through the requirements below, complete the online form and upload supporting documents.

All applicants must have completed a secondary (high) school education or the equivalent of 12 years of schooling.

Required Documents

To formally be admitted to the University, you will need to provide the following original documents or proof of pending results:

 

  • Statement of graduation / High school diploma
  • High school transcripts (semesters 1-6 for government schools or grades 9-12 for private schools)

 

Note: Please contact the Admissions Office if you are under the following curriculum:

- A-level

- IB Diploma

- Other equivalent international certifications

 

  • A personal statement (not more than 1000 words) outlining your personal achievements and why you are applying to your chosen degree program
  • English language proficiency such as IELTS (academic) or TOEFL
  • Passport copy
  • CPR copy / National ID
  • A medical report from a public health center or an approved private hospital (click here to view/download our list of approved medical centers/hospitals)
  • Two passport size photographs (soft or hard copies)

 

Entry Requirements (College of Business & Management; College of Architecture & Design):

 

  • An overall GPA of 75% or equivalent
  • IELTS score of 6.0 and above or equivalent
  • Passing AUBH personal interview

 

Entry Requirements (College of Engineering):

 

  • An overall GPA of 75% or equivalent
  • The student should have successfully completed a minimum of one science subject at high school level (e.g. Physics, Biology, Chemistry).
  • IELTS score of 6.0 and above or equivalent
  • Passing AUBH personal interview

 

Entry Requirements (Intensive English Program - IEP):

 

  • An overall GPA of 75% or equivalent
  • IELTS score of 5.0-5.5 or equivalent
  • Passing AUBH personal interview

 

Once you have completed the admission form, please return it to our Admissions Office on campus with the above documents for review.

Conditional Enrollment Plan

The Conditional Admission Plan is for students who do not perform as expected on the pre-assessment English exams. Based on student scores, they will be enrolled either traditionally in their program or conditionally.

Conditionally admitted students could take two general education courses (optional) for the first semester and the English for Academic Purposes Program which is made up of two modules; one to increase proficiency levels of reading/writing, while the other focuses on listening and speaking skills.

Upon completion of the English remediation courses, students can then be fully admitted into their program of study and will receive credit for the general education courses

Tuition and Fees

The tuition and fees stated below are applicable for students, Bahraini and International, registering for the Academic Year 2020-2021. Enrolled students must comply with the Financial Regulations of the university as published in the Student Handbook. The university tuition and fees are subject to change in accordance with the Higher Education Council regulations.

Tuition covers the cost of the programs only. Full time students must take a minimum study load of 12 credit hours.

*Student Activities Fee 

Student Activities Fee supports on-campus programs and activities that enhance campus life and provides access to the sports and recreation facilities. All students are required to pay this fee once per semester.

**Technology Fee

Technology Fee supports the technology infrastructure, resources and services that enhance student learning experiences and to continually provide innovative solutions in line with the university's mission. All students are required to pay this fee once per semester

Financial Regulations

Students must comply with the financial regulations of the university. Students are expected to settle their tuition and fees as per the payment deadlines.

University students are required to pay their tuition and fees based on the below due dates:

Late Registration

University students must adhere to registration deadlines. Registration of courses must be no later than the last working day before the start of the Add/Drop period. Registration during or after the Add/Drop period is subject to a Late Registration Fee

Late Payments 

University students must adhere to payment deadlines. Payments completed after the deadline for each installment is subject to a Late Payment Fee.

Outstanding Balances

Students with outstanding balances or financial obligations will:

 

  • Not be able to access the learning management systems.
  • Not be able to view their grades.
  • Not be eligible to register for the following term.
  • Not be able to get transcripts, grades, graduation/completion letters and certifications.

 

Refund Policy

- Dropping/Withdrawing from Courses:

In the event a student drops a course during the add/drop period, the student will be refunded 100% of the tuition and fees for the course as long as the student maintains the minimum credit hours for the semester. Non-attendance of classes does not imply that the student has dropped the course, and the tuition and fees will be applicable.

In the event a student withdraws from a course after the add/drop period, the student will not be refunded for the tuition and fees of the course.

- Withdrawing from the Semester/University:

In the event a student chooses to completely withdraw from the university or a semester, the following refund schedule will apply for the tuition and fees excluding the non-refundable fees and deposits:

Value Added Tax (VAT)

All tuition and fees stated on this page are exclusive of Bahrain Value Added Tax (VAT).

 

VAT charges, where applicable, shall be charged in accordance with the Decree-Law No. (48) for the year 2018 regarding Value Added Tax and its Executive Regulations issued under Resolution No. (12) for the year 2018. Any subsequent changes in VAT law will be applied.

Installment Plans

The university is pleased to offer students installment payment plans for tuition over the period of a semester (summer semester not included). To enroll, an Installment Plan Request Form must be completed by the student and submitted to the Finance Department. The installment plan is offered at the discretion of the university and may change over time.

Family Tuition Discount

To avail a family tuition discount, two or more first degree family members must be enrolled at the university. To receive the family tuition discount, a Family Tuition Discount Form must be completed by the students and submitted to the Finance Department. The family tuition discount is offered at the discretion of the university and may change over time.

Scholarship and Financial Aid

The university may offer scholarships or financial aid to students to begin or complete their studies. All scholarships and financial aid offered are at the discretion of the university and may change over time.
