Description

The BIBF offers the International Foundation Programme, which allows participants to enter directly into an undergraduate degree of their choice anywhere in the United Kingdom. The International Foundation Programme is recognised by the National Recognition Information Centre (UK NARIC), and is comparable to the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level and the Scottish Advanced Higher Standard.

The BIBF International Foundation Programme has been designed to prepare students for degree level study in UK universities. Before a student who has completed high school in Bahrain and other GCC states can enter a UK university degree course, they must take and pass an approved foundation course, which is equivalent to UK A-Levels or the International Baccalaureate Diploma. Unlike many other UK foundation programmes, which give admission to only one university, the BIBF programme has been formally benchmarked by UK NARIC – the body responsible for determining the equivalence of qualifications in the UK – as equivalent to A Levels and the IB Diploma. As such, students are eligible to apply to a number of well-recognised UK universities.
